Our combined murmers focused through this forum give us huge powers, Rod.

But my black and white conversion technique was embarrassingly simplistic. Please don't tell Barbara that I haven't yet made the time to review the references she gave us.

After cropping, but prior to changing the mode to grayscale, I selected the sky with the magic wand, feathered about 2 pixels, and used the brightness control to darken it to something like what I supposed I would have gotten using a polarizer when making the exposure, or using a red wratten A with black and white film.

Thanks, all, for the nice murmers, er, comments - gives me the energy to gear up for the next challenge. I might even do the reading homework.

The Goddess of Lurk is everywhere. She deplores the ignoring of her commands but absorbs the outlaw methods of those who defy her, tucking away such devices for a future she may or may not see. This makes her mysterious.

Default Corporeal Form

I have now emerged in corporeal form, just in time to work on the barge today as a tankerman - a wet, cold, windy day on the water but I love it.

Tony:

Thanks for the explaination of the technique you used on the sky.
When I look at this photograph, I am inspired to continue to work harder to improve my art/craft. This image so reminds me of the photographs of Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Minor White, etc. It shows great craft and more importantly, wonderful visualization.

Barbara:

As to my emergent in corporeal form, the string energy folks decided I was too far "left" and kick me out of the great void society.

Another note, I am anxiously waiting the new challenge.

Thanks,

rod

While you were working on the barge today, Rod, I was on the edge of a vineyard watching well drillers break things. Wish I knew what challenge was coming up, 'cause I could work on it while they break more stuff tomorrow. At least the weather is not wet and cold!
