Default Late Forties

Circa late 1940's, very early 1950's, track or X-country team with coach. Probably a private school.

Very upper-crust! Reminds me of Chariots of Fire. And that third from the left, first row looks an awful lot like aladyforty's grandfather's picture. It looks like most of them aren't wearing socks, but sure have sports attire. That can't be comfortable! Some of them look like they're having fun; the others look miserable. I am ruling out a fraternity, since they'd be going through their roughest week, dressed like that - and you'd never get a picture of that week if the fraternity had anything to do with it. And wow - those arms! Nice definition in all of them!

The faces and bodies look like those of young men, not boys, which may mean we're looking at a college team.

This is the Stanford Track team circa 1927. My father is the 3rd from the right in the back row and his events were broad jump and 100. He held the national college record for the broad jump for (as he used to say) about 20 minutes.
