Everybody needs a pool table. Right, Vito? It keeps us off the streets.

When I was a kid (long ago and far away), it was the tough and rowdy sorts who hung out on the street and who played pool in the parlors. My mother wouldn't let me anywhere near these other kids. What she didn't know never hurt her. 8)

Default Pool and Life

Vito:

Nice job of completing the homework assignment. The concept of the image(s) is very creative and well executed. I like the second image. It demonstrates how DOF can be used make a good photograph by letting the viewer fill in the detail of the out of focus background.

Very nice work and very creative.

Digital Depth of field is harder to control than with a 35 mm camera. Apparently, because the sensor in digicams is very small, a f-stop of 2 in a digital camera is equivalent to between f:11 and f:16 for a 35 mm camera. I read about the difference in f-stop between digital cameras and 35 mm cameras in Digital Photography magazine, Issue 33, after I attempted to complete the new challenge assignment and failed. I will post the image later.

oh wow! really? that is a biiiig difference!
is that the same with dSLRs?

i saw this shot in a magazine of a lake.....the foreground was so out of focus that it showed up as little circles of light....very cool effect....i want to try that so badly.....hopefully i'll be able to
