Barbara, I could not put the book title any where else as you say. It may interest you to know that the rest of the van is not as clean a white. This hood is normally covered we what we call a "car bra" we had personaly made. It is thick canvas with an inside padding of about 4 inch thick foam. I wonder what the hood would have looked like without the padding?

No, there really was no way around the problem...except erasing the hood words, but that would also have erased the irony.

Bras abound here in the States, too, but I don't think they're padded. Mostly, they protect the finish of the car. Anyway, that's what I've always assumed.

we had ours custom made (the car bra) to protect the hood from birds that constantly fly into it, mainly parrots. Hate that when it happens, hate to kill anything but it's just a fact of life.

Yes, it is a fact, but if you've crows or any other sort of carrion eaters, you're giving them life on the other side of things.
