Default Book Jacket - A Hat Full Of Sky

This is my attempt then. I went through the Amazon best seller lists looking for interesting tittles and found one called "A Hat Full Of Sky". Straight away an image of a Bowler hat, which instead of being black would have clouds on it, sitting in a white page with just its own shadow popped into my head. Whilst looking for images of Bowler hats to edit I stumbled upon these two people. They're from an advert, Mr Bradford and Mr Bingley - Bradford and Bingley Building Society. And I had a different idea. For the background I have used discodudette's cloud picture (I hope he doesn't mind).

I like it. That may change when I can see the screen though (the sun is shining on the monitor).

Original

And mine

I like your composition better than the "real" one.

Very, very nice (for some reason I assumed discodudette was a female. Guess that would be like the third sex I messed up on around here. I think we ought to do those self-portraits, Barb!

Only if I could go back in time to take the picture.

I read a chapter on wrinkle remover (for me) and spare-tire eraser (for me, again).

Hi Ferny

I concur. You have improved the book cover!

Here may the confusion re gender of discodudette...
Her photos imply strongly that she is female! lol

However, this forum member (male) offered another
take on her excellent sky photo.

Perhaps, this is the photo that you used.

In lieu of royalties to discodudette for use of her
photo (which I adapted), perhaps you can purchase
one of her horses which she has for sale

Why the bold on ette?

My mistake, I had no idea. I'll use the "I'm new here" excuse, if you let me.

digcamfan - Nope, it was my edit to her (see, I'm learning ) image. The blue on mine is a lot darker.
And I don't think I could afford a horse, of the cost to fly it to England.

Thanks everyone for the kind words towards my picture.
I just noticed the text is too transparent for my liking. The Authors name is hard to read. I was trying to get some of the clouds to show through it. Here is a version with 100 opacity. It makes a big difference, to me at least.

That text looks fantastic! "ette" was bold because that's what I assumed differentiated the "she" from "he." And just a guess, 'cuz one of my friends calls me dudette.
