After your mention of melons, I looked back at the photo and realized that the pot on the left looks just like a grapefruit. In actuality, it's one of those big old jugs that potters used to turn out by the hundreds or more a day. I don't know what would have been kept in it. Water? Applejack? Syrup?

Interesting. Some really liked this photo, some were only polite. I went specifically for far-out abstraction because I'd never done it before, then posted the photo without being entirely sure I liked it myself. I'm still not sure.
