Default Close: Pilsner Glass

Reading about Betsy's struggles trying to focus on glass, I decided to take a stab at it. No way was autofocus going to zero in on the Pilsner glass, and I was forced to go manual. I've had this camera for over a year and never once tried manual focus. I can be such an idiot at times.

The reason it disappeared is because the glass was sitting on a lightbox and the camera was pointed directly into the bright light. The camera, of course, had to be forced to put up with this, its exposure compensation cranked way up. Had a big argument with the beast, but I won.

Vito, are you saying Barb's kind of a man? j/k. Barb, this is stellar. Obviously, much better than mine. I love the lighting and the jewel tones in the red.

Betsy, that jewel-like glow is thanks to the lightbox, something I've been meaning to try and never getting around to because it was in the basement...somewhere. I finally found it, and now I'm hooked on the thing.

Did you retry focusing on glass using manual focus?
