There's little to say about this week's challenge other than that we're not referring to a certain well-known rock group. Plain old doors. Doors that swing, doors that slide, little doors, big doors, high-class doors, broken doors. Pay attention: we're not talking about a doorframe or archway but quite literally about the door itself.

That's it. No rules. Just doors.

Oh yeah, one rule: for at least the length of this challenge, only one photo per person.

(I may not be able to respond to everyone this week. Outside demands on my time are on the upswing.)

Even if the weather is wretched, you're still surrounded by doors when you're cooped up inside.

Think about the many ways in which the word "door" is used because it'll open you up to extended possibilities:

Door to heaven, destruction, success, etc.
Open-door attitude
The door is shut to...
Caught in a revolving door
[and so on]

And besides being symbols, they're nearly as varied as we are.

bcoultry, you've got a very creative mind. When you said Doors was the theme i automatically wondered if there were any doors in my house worth taking pictures of. I wouldn't have thought of the examples you just gave.

Better? Granted we had sun a little while ago but lately it's been nothing but rain and hail. I only live a few miles outside London.

bcoultry - Thank god you said that. I was thinking the same as jackrussel. Over here in the UK we have a tendency to use UPVC. Yuck!

Rather a coincidence this weeks challenge is. I was taking a picture of our gate a few minutes ago.
