This is the bell house from the Byodo-In temple in Hawaii. The temple gets all of the glory but this building has its own charm.

Nice shot selvin. Is the bell still struck or is it ornamental. :-)

There's a love of red in the Orient, and here's a perfect example of one reason why. (I can hear the sound that bell makes.)

Thanks for the comments,

Barbara, you are correct, red is a favorite color in many Asian cultures.

Hi Selvin,

I really like how you captured a "spectrum of red" with some surfaces sunlit and some in shade.

Also, your followup photo to a question is delightful.

Your first says to me..."Ahhhhhh.....serenity".

Your second says...."Ahhhhhh....here come the kids".

Nicely done picture, shades of red framed by the green trees and shrubs. It brings back a thought I had when I was in Hawaii, especially on Oahu. Is Hawaii a part of the U.S.or Japan? Are the history books wrong. Did Japan occupy Hawaii and remain there to this day?
