I like it. With it's simplicity I think I might give it a shot in B and W.

I like it to. I think it is red, but not a pure one. Slightly more zesty and vibrant. Perhaps it really is red but the camera didn't get the colours 100%.

Someone took his camera when he went shopping or while he was waiting for someone else to get done shopping. First I saw a wonderful picture of pattern composed of Petco shopping carts, and now I see another photo focused on pattern, this time a fence near Circuit City.

It's really more red than orange, Vito. On my screen, it looks to have no more than one-fourth yellow in it,but I think it might be even less than that.

And once again, how much red or other additives makesit red or something else? I fail to see any value in discussion of degrees of redness whether it's orange, pink or purple, they are all variations of red......This is an interesting but frustrating challenge to read.....is it just me??? Should we not be focusing more on composition, subject, lighting and creativitythan degrees of redness?

I think they are just "ragging on" him for fun. I wonder if calr was doing some electronic shopping?

Here's what I wrote for the challenge:

"We're talking about hue, making it the subject of the photo or using it to focus in on the subject. It doesn't matter if everything or just a tiny portion of your photo is red. What does matter is that, in some way, everyone knows you were thinking RED when you took the picture."

As you can see, it really is about red. All the other parts of good photography apply as always, but since I was talking about "red," not purple or orange or any of the other colors, then red is what's being looked for.

Red is a rather special color in photography just as it is in the other visual arts. No other color can jump out of the picture as fully asred can. If you mix it with blue and end up with purple, it won't leap out much, if at all. So, in this respect, in the way that red almost insists that it be the subject of the picture, it's a very important color to understand and learn how to use for its compositional effect.

Yes, and it colors the whole project.
