This was edited under a coat so when I see it tonight I might not like it. I'm not happy with the leaf at the bottom. Or maybe someone will like it.

I really like this - especially the streaks of rain. I'm with you - I'm not sure if I like the leaf or not. It adds some nice color to the photo, but I think I would edit it out - it's the berries I want to look at. They really are sharp!!

I picture someone slogging about in the muddy lawn, crouched under a coat, looking for all the world like a gargoyle for the single purpose of taking a photo of a flower in the rain.

Tremendousshot with its inclusion of rain streaks. I vote in favor of everything but the leaf.

Thank you, all of you. You're going to give me a big head. :-)

I don't think I want to get rid of the leaf, just mute it so it is less dominant. At the moment I'm looking at the red fluffy things and a bright green thing just below is jumping up and down like a seven year old screaming "look at me! LOOK AT ME!!!". This is an edited version (link, not a posted picture).

Sorry to disappoint you, bcoultry, but it was a hosepipe job. Notice that all of the rain is behind the flower and none of it landing on or infront. Me with one finger on the trigger as lightly as possible to get the rain effect and not a heavy mist and another finger on the camera pressing the button. Not easy, but worth it.

Well, darn it, Ferny, but you could have kept up the lie.

Your choice to mute the leaf worked extremely well.
