I like the reflection of the first picture but the black background of the second picture and that it looks like its just floating there. Great idea and great colors.

Great shot(s) I was also torn between the two versions but I think I'll go with the first one. The soft, subtle reflection of the slinky from the floor is very nice.Great job jackrussellFunny, I was also thinking about a slinky shot the other day but mine is rather boring dark blue gray (metal) and not in very good shape due to its former use as a shortwave antenna:-)so it would need a lot post processing

Thanks blr, I hope people don't get tired of seeing shots from me with a black background. I took this on a black shelf which i used again for another shot of Gollum today. I think i'd better find a nice bright background as well for a bit of variation. :-)

I absolutely love black backgrounds. Most of the studio shots from my B&W film period were against absolutely black background. We should start a "black background photo society"Keep up the good work.
