Rick, you needed to back off hardly more than an inch so the bottom of the ball didn't get sliced off. That said, the color contrast is stunning, and on top of that, the ball is doing its job, surely getting others to do as I did: gaze into it. There's a little world inside it. Did you move around until it was reflecting just what you wanted it to reflect?

Actually, i moved until the background was the best. It is reflecting the house and me. Jack, they are the rage here. i guess they are for gazing into and deep reflections.

Another, taken with my new 500mm mirror lens. about 60 feet. The lens is a fixed f8 so I have to adjust ISO and use ND filters to adjust speed.

Very nice work, Rick! You don't immediately see the stand, and so the ball seems to float for a moment among the lilies before coming to a rest.
