Gosh, but it's nice to be appreciated! There's something, however, that many of you may not realize, and it's this: I feel I've gained more knowledge than I've imparted. Having to come up with ideas forced me to learn, and then seeing everyone else's responses helped me learn even more. To be a leader, youneed toknow the destination. I can't even begin to explain the effects of this need, the learning involved in it. You, Betsy and Vito, are about to encounter that need. It'll take you to unexpected places.:-)

Here's something I must say openly to everyone: don't expect Betsy and Vito to respond to each and every post. They may not always be able to do this, and if you expect it of them, they'll expect it of themselves, and once that happens, running the forum will become more difficultbecause some of the fun will be drained away from them.

(No, Vito, I don't want my name added back in as moderator. I've officially retired, though no one should think I'll now fade off into the sunset. Too into photography and too vocal for that.)

I don't expect either of them to respond to every post, but I have a funny feeling vito will give it a good go.

nice shot, fits the challenge well,

but..

i'd rather help the person make the shot better...or help them improve it later...

Vito

So who's gonna moderate the moderator's? : )

Barbara, you have been an integral part of this forum for me personallysince I joined and you've given not only myself but many others great advice, ideasand encouragement and that kind of help is priceless when you have doubts about your abilities.

So from me,

a bigTHANK YOU!

I had to push myself, had to think up things to do with the camera that would teach various aspects of photography, and in pushing like that, I ended up learning from myself every bit as much as others might have. I expect that you and I will soon be thanking Betsy and Vito. In the meantime, it's so nice when people pause for a moment to say, "Job well done." It feels good.:-)
