Oh, those missed opportunities. It's probably all muddy and scraped by now.

Seriously though sergio, when i first saw the ball i thought of Leeds Rhinos. They are a rugby league team in England and the colour of the ball is close to the Leeds team colours. Have a look on the link. :-)

I've had a play with the ball after Barbaras idea. This is the best i came up with. I did it with the RadialGradient tool in photoshop on a layer copythen selected the ball and pasted it in.:-)

I'm trying to figure out why it's not round. The only thing I can think of is that it happened when you resized it before you posted the first one. It couldn't have been because of the angle you took the shot because a round thing is round from every angle.

Good work though Mark. You're getting to know Photoshop now aren't you.

I was just looking at that myself ferny, i hope it's not mutating into a rugby ball.I think i may not have selected the ball completely looking at it now. I was using the elliptical select tool thingy and it took me a few tries to get it. Is there a better way to select a ball ?. :-)

I just looked at the first shot again and there is part of the black bar showing at the bottomof the ballwhich isn't showing on the second shot so i mustn't have selected it properly.

Well done jackrussel.

3hints :
  1. Leave space between the gradient and the borders : it looks like it has been cropped in the current shot[/*]
  2. Horizontally alignement of the football would help[/*]
  3. Elliptic and circular selections : mmm, if u are using Photoshop maybe it could be useful to know that you can force an elliptic selection to be a perfect circular one by pressing Shift while you are dragging the mouse.(Btw, the sameshort-key can be applied to rectangular selection in order to make them square ).
[/*]
Still, do u know that if u press SpaceBar while dragging you can move your selection ?

Here's some shortcut : http://www.teamphotoshop.com/ps7sc.php

P.S.: Intersting the Rhinos origin !
