ferny, i don't know if you'll see this but what a great result last night. Rooney is the star of the tournament up to now which i realy didn't expect. I thought we might see a flash of genius here and there from himbut not this. Pity about the England fan getting killed though. I can't wait till Thursday.:-)

I'll see it. And yet another thread turned into football.

Rooney is looking good. Whenever he gets the ball you expect something to happen. Beckham had a mare!

I've seen reports that the person doing the stabbing was Croatian and that he was Ukrainian. I've also read that he was stabbed whilst trying to pick-pocket. I'll reserve judgement until I actually know what happened. But if it was football related, they should come down hard on the people and nations involved. Even if it means something bad happens to England. We can't have this sort of thing in sport. And not after what happened in Turkey a few years ago.

ferny, at least this thread started with a football. :-)I always get nervous when the opposition get a free kick or corner because David James isn't up to much and i expect a goal every time. Rooney is by far our best player up to now, we haven't played that well and he stands out a mile. I was hoping Owen would get one but at least he's got a few assists to his credit. As for the killing, these things happen now and again, I haven't seen the pickpocket story but if that's what he was doing he asked for it. Anyway, roll on Thursday. :-)

PS, don't forget to update your avatar. I hope to see it full of winning scorelines for England by the end of the tournament. :-)

David James is poor in the air and in one-on-ones. But as a shot stopper he is fine. I don't think he was fully to blame for either goal. Although he should have put someone on the both posts and he could have come out for the crosses. They were a little low though. The defence is a shambles with crosses and set pieces.
I read about it on teletext this morning. I just found this link for you. Looks like he was getting pocketed, not the other way around. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3828505.stm

Avatar update, you may need to refresh it.

So it was the guy who did the stabbing who was the pickpocket, I thought the England fan was doing the robbing and got stabbed for it. I'm surprised the England fans didn't rip him to bits.

David James is my brother-in-law. Though I'm pretty sure he's not the same David.:-)
