Now, that's a good silhouette, zoomn! Hard to tell in this light (haha) but is that the waxwing you had posted pictures of in the Wildlife topics? ...or the Kingbird? (id on silhouettes is tough sometimes)

Thanks a lot geoff. It is the mad Kingbird.

I just darkened it up a bit.

Just discovered this photo challenge forum. Looks like fun.

There are some really interesting ones.

I think your "high five" was one of the more creative ones.

That was cool how you did that.

Beautiful. I love the way the sun shines through the feathers on its wings. You should be proud of yourself.

Oh look, I little bird in flight. 

With the spread wings and the backlighting, it is a magnificent sight and an equally magnificent image of that sight. It looks like one of those detailed sculptures you can get from Franklin Mint.

I am not familiar with that species but I would be willing to hike extended distance to see that bird.

It depends how you define a silhouette. My (lose) definition is something backlit resulting in loss of detail in the main subject which is under-exposed. Or an un-detailed subject (shape), which doesn't have to be black, with a detailed surrounding.

This is dictionary.com's version. Click.
