Greetings,

My very first "challenge"...
I think this is the only silhouette shot I have.. It's simple, but I like it.
This shot is at the Oregon Star Party in 2003. There was a large forest fire at the time, causing the black smoke in the photo. That's the sun, not the moon.

no way?! that's the sun?! that's awesome!

i think the black smoke adds to it, but the silhouette isn't obvious enough that it's a telescope, at least if that's gonna be the subject

very cool shot!

Interesting photo and lighting conditions considering that it was still daylight!

So, with all that smoke how did the observing turn out? I've thought about attending the OSP but haven't got off my duff to do it yet...

Here's another...

The conditions were challenging, but some nights were better than others. It made it hard to get a good view of Mars though. Last year was when it was closest to Earth.

Oh, if this were mine, my fingers would itch to clone out that telescope. The first photo would be just plain gorgeous without it. Think about doing it. For art's sake, of course:!:

(And a big fat welcome to the challenge forum!)
