Loosely commemorating the 6-month milestone of this Forum, we are offering a People's Choice. You may choose either:

Fireworks! Or Wildcard!

Fireworks: For those of you who have a camera capable of slow shutter speeds and a great view of fireworks, post your best one. Let us sit back and enjoy the show. Aaaaaahhhhhh……. Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Wildcard!: Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Select one of the previous challenges and try again. Maybe you got to the party late and missed a really good challenge. Maybe you never did master that one particular shot you wanted. Or maybe you're going away on vacation and don't want to miss a new challenge.

Silhouette

Circles

Red

New Angle

Doors

Close Up

Book Jacket

Seeing Double

Good Old Days

Good Sense

Contrasts

Color Blind

Depth of Field

Evidence

Broken Rules (of thirds)

White on White

Refer to each initial challenge for information and suggestions.

Also, Vito will be away for most of this time so be gentle on me as your only moderator for this! You can hound him when he returns, for tons of vacation photos.

As always, please include either "Fireworks!" or "Wildcard! + AND THEN THE ORIGINAL CHALLENGE PREFIX" before your title.

That is a wise move there monkey. Not only does my camera have too short a shutter but over here fireworks tend to only be used on the 5th November and for New Years.

I've gone through the old threads and collected the links for each challenge so you can see the tasks. I hope that's ok. I was going to paste bcoultry's first post from each thread, but my post would be massive then.

Looking through the forums pages, Red seems to have been the most popular challenge. Which has suprised me. DOF was my first challenge.

ferny, what happens on the 5th of November, that you have fireworks? I was awful at American History and never had any classes on any other history...:-)

Is Guy Fawkes commemorating the person who tried to blow up the british parliament building some centuries back or is it an urban myth that I grew up with?

Hmmm. I learned something today! Thanks! Even reading this I wasn't reminded of some bit of information I'd learned previously - this was totally new to me! :-)
