I like this, it's interesting. I think it would be better if you could remove the lane dividers(or whatever they are)on either side of the swimmer. Then I think it would be a totally awesome abstract. The use of b&w here makes for a dynamic picture.

I respectfully disagree with Suzan on this one - I like it as is - I think the dividers give the photo some more information - perhaps a race? The importance of the strength, endurance and speed of this butterfly? Without those, for me, the photo would just be a swimmer splashing around in the water. Gracefully, granted, but not quite so urgent.

yes it was a race, taken on saturday just gone, it was the state short course swimming championships. My fifteen year old was competing in it. The swimmer in this shot was one of our local kids.

Vintage 1950s b&w look to your photo, Aladyforty.

Well done

Err...go Michael Phelps and Natalie Couglan, et al from USA!

Uh, I like this shot very much !

Compliments aladyforty!

I do like the shooting angle, the shutter speed and the moment you decided to shoot at which seems to be taken at the peak of the action.

Well done, and I agree with monkey143 on the importance of those dividers.
