This is a contrast I've been able to witness for several years. My daughter at 6 feet tall in her bare feet and her best friend, at around 5'1"are standing on the same level. I've referred to them as Big Shortie and Short Biggie.....they're almost amusing to see walking side by side. This was last year's prom. Their dates were elsewhere....

Very nice photograph, great concept, fantastic story! Your daughter and her friend are both beautiful. I'd be the short one. :-)

Thanks Monk.....the short young lady is also a figure skater for many years...I hear she's pretty good, but at 20, already too old for Olympics.

Yow. Isn't it sad how we emphasize youth and anything older as "past prime?"

Yep, pretty sad, but I still think it's all in the mind (other than physical limitations) When I turned 50 I felt REALLY over the hill, but mentally, I know when to be mature but I refuse to grow up.....fantasy, make believe are all too fun to eliminate as too immature. If you're familiar with the movie "Neverending Story", the Nothing is the monster killing everything because people stop believing in the make believe....It's hard to imagine if no one had imagination. We'd be little more than robots, by the way, the new movie "I, Robot" is getting great pre-release reviews....can't wait...Pardon the subject shifts, a little adult ADD setting in too, I think, therefore I am, I think.....lol
