For what it's worth:

I bought a star filter recently and thought I'd play with it for my arial fireworks shot. Bad idea. That's why I'm posting these sparkler pics. Not many of the arial shots turned out, in fact I think some of my shots were ruined because of it. Oh, well, liveand learn....

These shots did not use the star filter.

These are just great. I always thought of rockets shooting in the sky when I heard "fireworks". Great idea - very well done.

I forgot to mention that these were shot handheld. I didn't have my Tripod with me when for this trip.

I love the first one. Very abstract. My mom just got the S7000. Do you like yours? She sure does. Trying to get her back. She made one post about one of my old photos and disappeared. Mo, are you lurking?!? :-)

I love my s7000! I had a couple of Kodak point & shoot digicams previously, and for me this was a great next step. All the flexability that I was looking for, with out the expenseand bulk of a digitalSLR. My only complaint is the aspect ratio of the shots. I'd prefer if it shot 2:3 like my Kodak's did.

Oh, for what it's worth, the first one is my favorite as well. The second had a simillar look, but toning down the greens allowed for you to see my son's face.

That first one is truly special. It has a wonderful abstract quality to it.
