hi, first one is obtained amplifying the waves, adding some motion blur to the seagull and a lens flare...

How have you amplifyied the waves ?

The bloat tool from the liquify panel ?

... or, mmhh, now that I look closer at it, maybe you could also have selected an horizontal sea slice, enlarged it vertically and pasted ?

In any case, a good job !

to amplify the waves I have selected a slice of the sea and used 2 times the cylindrical distorsion filter (a subsetting of the Spherical distorsion filter) in PS.

Thanx for providing the explanation, iacopo.

YESSS, the Spherical Distortionfilter also allows for only vertical or only horizontal application ( I always used it for both axes with negative values to correct barrel distortion !).

This is the very first time I have seen it applied on just one dimension , and in a very clever way.
