This photo is straight out of the camera. There is a fountain spraying wateroff to the left of the photo creating waves and I thought the look was kinda cool.

Wow - Stunning, Suzan. You're right - very impressionistic! Thanks for providing the overall shot, too. These colors are perfect for the cooler (fall like)weather we're having here lately! :-)

Suzan, digcamfan got it right - definitely reminiscent of Monet. Great job recognizing this and capturing it!

I couldn't help but have a little fun with the second picture. Since digcamfan got me thinking in the Monet mold, I took the second picture and did a little rotating and mirroring and got the following image. It's like the original scene except that the reflection is in the position of the real trees and sky - perhaps Monet would have painted it like this.

Geoffs thanks for reminding me that it's ok to change an image from the strictly 'this is the way it came out of the camera'. I like the version you did immensely. In fact I think I'm going to print one. Cool.
