These are great! For "reflections" I like the first one best. But the second two make me smile and really tell the rest of the story. Very nice! :-)

Thanks for looking. I took these from about yards and was amazed when that heron dipped down and came up with that 10" bass, talk about a mouthful.

Great detail in your series...esp impressive cuz herons are quite skittish.

CShark, I like your Avatar. Is that truly you in the pic?

digcamfan,

So right you are about herons being skittish. I tried for 3 weeks to get a picture of this wary bird.

Finally I snuck into this pond in the dark and waited 2 hours for him to arrive and catch this fish. Course he landed on the other side of the pond so these shots are about 60 yards away. Well worth the wait in my opinion.

Thanks a lot for taking a look and commenting!

Thanks. No, that's not me. I wouldn't mind trying it, but I would rather put my money into staying in the plane, than jumping out. I think I'll change my avatar to help prevent the confusion.

Zoomn,

I know how hard it is to get Heron shots, especially with a fish of that size. I was rather proud of my blue heron shot with a 3" bluegill in his beak, then I saw yours.

OK - so is that you in your NEW avatar? What is kitty's name? I love it when you can catch them with the tip of their tongues out. So funny!

His name is Fido of all things. He was a gift from my last girlfriend and she named him. I usually just call him Goofball.

Zoomn, sorry about the thread hijacking.
