Well, I finally found myself in the trashcan. I was out shooting pictures of a high rise offce complex a couple hours ago when I shot this. Nikon D100, Sigma 17-35 lens.

Wow seriously shiney trashcan. Must be an upscale neighborhood or upscale business district. Do you use the 17-35 for macro shots? I'm trying to get info for the big jump to dSLR.

No, the 17-35 is not a macro lens. However, I use extension tubes with all of my lenses to do macro work. Most often, I use either a 10mm or a 20mm tube in combination with my Sigma 28-80mm lense. The extension tube mounts between the lens and camera body, effectively moving the lens farther away from the CCD.
