Cropduster at a local airshow today.

Couldn't get the same angle shot for this one.

Nice, nice, nice! Such a contrast between the chipper yellow up top and the more dramatic sky below. Very similar photos, yet so different! :-)

I've always had a hard time getting decent shots at an airshow. I like your high key shot mostly for the angle you were able to capture the plane at. Most airshow photos are of the bottoms of the planes which leavesme feeling stuck on the ground. Your shot gives me the impression of viewing the plane from another aircraft. You were on the ground for this shot, right?

Yes, I was on the ground. I happened to be on the far side of the runway inside the restricted zone. The FAA guys allowed me to be there as I was officially there to prevent anyone from getting into the zone on that side. Since the planes always bank away from the crowd, that gave me some great angles to work with.

Im a member of the Civial Air Patrol based at the airport that the show was located andweprovided the flightline security.

We also did the flightline security for the Gary airshow and the Chicago air and water show. It gives you many opportunities that you would not have otherwise had.
