Well, I guess I can post in the challenges too. Everyone else has used my other ideas for new pics, so I will post one I took a few weeks ago. My daughter playing with sparklers. Nothing done but resized for web. Shutter 2.5 sec, F2.8, ISO 200.

very cool shot!

i see you used a flash (hehe i KNOW these things )

i like the second, because the exposure is better on her...but you still have the great effect of the sparkler...

nicely done gocubs!

Thanks Vito,

She is a little washed out in the first from the sparkler and the flash:blah:. I wanted to use the flash to stop her and the long exp. to get the movement. Good timing with the challenge eh? Also should add, on the first, nothing done but resize and redeye fix.

yes...the flash was DEFINETELY the way to go...otherwise you'd have many daughters in the picture

i used the flash in those too...

Yeah Vito I remember those, this is the first time I have tried a shot anything like this and it turned out exactly like I wanted. Sometimes a guy gets lucky.:G

Thanks Julie, settings for 1st shot:

Shutter 2.5 sec., Aperture F2.5, ISO 200, focal length 8mm, auto focus and white balance, forced flash, Shooting mode: Shutter Priority.

Second shot:

everything was the same excpet the aperture was F3.6 and thats probably her face is better exposed. Since I was shooting in Shutter Priority I just chose the 2.5 sec I wanted and it chode the ape. Thanks again, I was very pleased with how these turned out.

Thanks Brad,

I'm not sure of the lingo, but if you mean when did it fire, since I set it to forced flash, when I tripped the shutter, the flash fired and exposed her while the shutter remained open catching the sparkler trail. So I'm guessing front curtain?? Thanks again for looking and commenting.:-)
