For this challenge, you need to show us the beauty of fall where you live. From the gorgeous fall leaves to a championship gourd at the fair, from the sight of your wife in a thick sweater with the kids raking leaves, to a hayride. Anything that shows us autumn where you live is fair game, so all can play, even if the leaves are no longer changing (or haven't yet, or won't in your neck of the woods!). Could it be your new black cat? Mom curled up with a good book in front of the fireplace? Is the neighborhood decorated for Halloween yet? Does the frost make a miniature wonderland when you first step out in the morning? Whatever you see as picturesque at this time of year would be appropriate.

Due to the timely nature of this assignment, we will make two exceptions: one, you do not have to take the photo during this time period. If it is not autumn where you live now, feel free to dig into your archived photographs to post your best shots of autumn as you know it. Two, this challenge will be extended for an additional challenge period, to encompass the early part of November. We WILL post a new challenge in two weeks but it will run alongside this one. They will both end on November 9.

Here is the very first photo I took after buying my Canon 20D. This is very typical of a New England (CT) moring this time of year. Comments welcome.

I took this from a bluff in Southeastern Minnesota that's the Minnesota River in the background of the first pictures. Any tips or comments are appreciated.
