Very nice, RG and calr!

Hope you don't mind me stealing thunder but here are two from my Panasonic DMC-FZ20 at full zoom (432mm equiv.), 100% cropped to 1280x960, reduced to 800x600 (at PBase) then another 50% for posting here. Taken in Buffalo, NY, US.

(The warm cast is not from the moon, I made a pledge to myself to shoot in sepia all week and decided to leave that way even for the moon.)

...after which the sky clouded up.

I feel lucky to have gotten even this close...my Oly5060 with a 1.5 tele didn't get me very close...this is about 5% of the frame.....

I love the blood red you captured, we didn't get much of that here due to the clouds that rolled in. Nice work.

For kicks I just went outside (figures it's severe-clear tonight!) and took a couple hundred frames with two telephotos on my 36mm-432mm Panasonic DMC-FZ20, a 1.7x (734mm) and a 1.9x (821mm) but I won't be able to take them off the card until I get to work. I hope they turned out!

Very nice effort all!

I'm so glad you guys posted this - esp. Bob, whose red moon was great! I was sick last week (part of why I've been invisible and slow in getting caught up!) and just slept through it - I didn't care! My husband said we didn't get to see the red, anyway.:-)
