Pretty gloomy photo. I think you've got some distortion there. The left is worse than the right. What conditions did you take it in?
Up lighting always looks odd doesn't it? We're so used to seeing stuff lit from above.

it's gloomy by design... i wanted to capture the sense of foreboding and mystery it evokes whenever i see it. the building itself is on a slope, and i was not shooting perpendicular to the wall, so there's probably a little angular distortion. i tried to straighten it as best i could and get rid of most of it, but there's a bit left. it was taken at about 10:30 PM, which is complete dark this time of year, with only the building lights for illumination. there were street lights above me, but i was zoomed in on the archways and the street lights had no discernable effect.

I love the repetition and symmetry in the composition, with the light just barely picking out the tips of the arches.
