Sorry, I'm posting a lot, but I actually have a few ideas for shadow. I took a pic of one of Transformers. This guy only stands about three inches tall. Had to make the image black and white for the shadow to pop out.

It may be my eyes or my monitor but he seems to get very fuzzy around his legs. It may be a narrow dof but it does look fuzzy, rather than out of focus.

It's a good idea, alphie. I think with a bit of playing around you could get it a lot better. That's not an insult, just saying that you've got a very good base to start with.

If you wanted to get the shadow sharper you'd need a stronger light on it. Got a few desk lamps in your house? Clump them together in the same spot. And if the dof is shallow, increasing it a bit will help to.

hmm..i like the softer shadow...and the 'fuzzy' effect ferny is talking about works with the shadow how it is!
very nice
go sell this to the company that makes the transformers!
