This was take on Christmas a couple of years ago. The temp had dropped to a point where ice "cones" begin to form on the rocks around the falls.

This was taken with a Pentax I220, 35 mm and then scanned so the quality is less than I would like but it makes a nice B&W.

I shot this originally in B&W as the place was covered with snow and not much color to be found. Searching for contrast instead of color was a new experience and challenge that I enjoyed a great deal.

Some photos I took just turned out terrible because I still was looking at color instead of contrast and it takes some practice to figure out what looks good.

Don't be shy .. go out and try shooting just B&W .. and you will find a whole new area of photography that most miss.
