Not sure what to think of this one. The technical aspects of it (exposure, depth of field, composition) are very good. However, I think the stub of the branch detracts from the overall image. Without the branch, this picture might be a candidate for display in my home. Unfortunately, the branch removes it from consideration.

My score: 7 on scale of 10.

Got to agree with Vito. This one doesn't do much for me. Not enough texture to make it really interesting.

Only one person here didn't mention the offending branch. Talking about the branch is somehow akin to looking at the photograph of a person and deciding it's a bad photograph because the person has an objectionable nose.

Next week when we all go out to take photographs of trees and attempt to animate those trees, I hope none of us pack saws in our camera bags.

No saw, Barbara. However, I think there is a laser torch, two hatchets, and a set of pruning sheers in my bag. No wonder the camera gear won't fit!

Cal, you forgot the Miracle Glue! Do not, I repeat, do NOT leave home without it.Surgically removea branchfrom one tree, then use it to mend another tree's lack of proper decor. How could you have forgotten the d***ed glue?!
