This tree, itself hanging in the balance on the edge of the rock appears to reach out and protect the rock from falling out of balance.

I could happily fill up every single one of my flash cards on this scene! It's filled withso manykinds of interpretations.

Did you use a filter, a polarizing one perhaps? I ask because of the intense shades of blue in the sky and the fact that this was obviously one very sunny day.

Another question: where is this?

I also like this one very much. It is a most unusual sight. I have seen a lot of unusual rock formations but none with a tree growing out of them.

Good work.

I used a polarizerfor this shot. The sun was off to the right of the picture and a cliff was off to the left reflecting some of the light back onto the shadow.

The picture was taken at Joshua Tree National Monument in California. The picture was taken in February.
