And I'm as glad as you are that you grabbed the shot. It's such an odd picture, and I can't figure out quite why, but it's not a bad sort of oddness at all. Is it the way the light is striking only that one tree? Is it the total straightness of the trunks? How is it possible to like an oddity without understanding that oddity?

How about you, Vito? Does it seem odd to you too, or have I simply not had enough to eat today?

Barbara, maybe I can help with your quandry...or make it worse!

What I see is a collection of four objects. Each has a different texture and each has different lighting. It reminds me of one of those IQ test logic problems where based on the information given, you have to make a choice. In this case the choice has been made for you.

I like the shot. The only distracting element is the car (I think that's what it is) behind the lighted tree.

Good capture. Maybe someone else will interpret it differently but that's how I see it.

hmm...it is odd, in the fact that it just so happens, that the challenge this week is "Trees"...and that the lovely 'trees' to the right from where i took this photo, blocked off the sun just enough to hide the light from everywhere except for that 'tree'!

thanks for looking and sharing your thoughts guys :-D

A car? Where's the car? Ackk! I'm going blind!

Vito, I hope you understand that calling this an odd picture has no bearing on its quality. As a matter of fact, it's that very oddness that captures the attention, and attention is always the goal in photo. This is a picture that succeeds admirably. It even has Cal seeing things.

Why weren't you in school? And don't tell me it's because they don't hold school at 5:30 in the morning, no excuse.:blah:

I see patterns. Marching trees, and the light only on the far left makes it a fairly dynamic shot. The light in the tree branches doesn't bother me as my eye keeps coming back to the 'heavenly lit' tree.

I think it's lovely.....so many of my most fave pix are about nice light.

I'm really enjoying this challenge btw. I hadn't realized just how much I like trees.

Canna.
