Here are some trees, but not the kind we've been looking at up to this point. These are light poles at a new MAX Light Rail station in Portland, OR. They are actually lighted modern sculptures of trees found in the Pacific Northwest. Theses are not exactly what Barbara and Vito had in mind but I submit that thay are "trees". You be the judge.

Cal, you're such a pain in the...something! :-)

You're right, they are trees, and I don't remember anything being said about the pictures having to be of botany. But just in case, you did happen to include trees in the background, didn't you?

Cup trees, shoe trees, family trees... Hey! wouldn't it be interesting to take a simple word and challenge everyone to show what the word means to them? Box, heart, or wall, for instance.

I knew you guys/gals would love it! :-):-)

My other entries in this challenge have been right on target, but as you may have figured out, I sometimes march to the beat of a different drummer. I sometimes step outside the box. I had a couple more that are outside the box but I'll save them for another challenge.

BTW, I don't recall anything in the challenge specs, are trees with blossoms acceptable?

Hi Cal,

I much enjoyed these trees - so much public sculpture is quite dour, but these are wonderfully light and jolly. It was good to get to see them.
