This is the view through the covered bridge that crosses the North Fork of the Yachats River about 11 miles east of the town of Yachats, Oregon. At thirty ninefeet, this is said to be the shortest of the covered bridges remaining in Oregon. It is also one of only four bridges left (after the collapse of the Wimer bridge in 2003)that are built with a Queenpost truss system.

very nice work here

although the outside is a lot brighter than the inside, there's definetely detail in the shadows, while the brighter portion is nicely exposed :-D

i like it!

Thanks Vito,

That was one of my earliest "through the covered bridge" photos taken with my old Coolpix 995. It is not easy to show the detail of the bridge framework without blowing out the highlights in the outside scenery. I usually select the brighter part of the photo and post process it separatlely from the darker framework and interior. I probably should try making over and under exposed shots and stacking them.I am alsothinking that I might buy a good flash for these shots since I will be taking a lot of them and any excuse to buy more photo equipment works for me. Here is my latest effort for this type of shot taken with my Nikon D70 last month. It is the Earnest Bridge over the Mohawk River northeast of Eugene Oregon.

Like the first picture best. It just draws me into it. i like the landscape on the other side. The signs just don't work for me. Like the detail in the underside of the covered bridge. Neat.
