This is a long abandoned bridge of the former Chicago and Great Western Railroad. Today the former roadbed is part of a regional trail system. This bridge is rather difficult to access and little known unless you are willing to scramble through some fairly tough terrain. Well hidden in suburbia....

Everything's working just as it should in this picture.

Reading what you had to say about this spot, I ended up torn between my personal battle with telephone lines and the fact that the lines in your photo are actually an integral part of the scene, highlighting a secluded and peaceful little space in the middle ofbusy suburbia.

To clone out or not to clone out. What an annoying question.:-)

Very well done! It does bring back memories of Chicago and its environs.

Barabra,

Perish the thought about cloning out those telephone lines..... If God had intended the brdige to be without telephone lines he would have.....

Cheers ....

Very tranquil, RGRotts and exquisitely composed!:-)

Was this shot with your new digcam?

And for Barbara...and Selvin...

There was a cartoon in the New Yorker mag years ago...

There was a female pianist playing with numerous "hangers on" clustered about her.

All the "hangers" on looked exactlythe same.

Caption of cartoon:

"Noooooooo......send in the CLOWNs!"

What a marvellous image - I like everything about it. It's especially nice that it is tucked away somewhere in suburbia, in what looks like a wildlife haven.
