I clicked this photo at Folsom Lake, CA.

At first, I thought you had applied one of the art filters in Photoshop to the picture and then I figured that you really applied the charcoal heat filter! I can smell the starter fluid from here!! Great shots and great creativity. Those shots really show the effects of the heat from the flames.

It has been a long time since I was at Folsom Lake. When I was in high school (San Juan HS Class of 63) my best buddy and I used to go to a beach a little way north of the dam. I remember an island you could swim out to. I am sure a lot has changed in 45 years!

Thanks for your comments CalR...

Just to attest...There have been no manipulations in any of the photographs except cropping and resizing:G...the second one I warmified a bit...just to exaggerate the flames...but nothing else other than that.

I have been in Sacramento for just over a year...so dont know much about how Folsom lake looked like earlier. This was my first visit. I loved theplace..it is wonderful during this time of the year...

The heat distortions in these pics are quite wonderful. I believe no. 3 is my favorite.
