I could not get any surroundings unless I wanted powerlines and tons of editing to do. I was set up on top of parking garage but had to shoot between two larger buildings, hence some of the images cropped instead of full bursts.

Nice job – they came out well. I've given up on trying. I watch the fireworks every year from my boat and a tripod on my runabout is worse than trying to handhold.

Nice to see fireworks from Vicksburg. I understand it was well into the 20th century before the good folks there would even recognize the 4th of July as a holiday – much less shoot off fireworks.

I agree with Slipe. These are excellent shots. The cropping is also excellent.

Slipe, as I am sure you have found out, using a tripod on a boat or even on a large cruise ship is useless if you are shooting subjects that are not on the boat. Since the boat or ship is always moving, so is the tripod! On a larger ship, however, using a tripod to shoot subjects on the ship is OK since everything is moving together.
