I felt I needed to polish my spectacles as I saw this pair of adjacent pelagic trawlers moored in Lerwick harbour as we sailed home last week. So far as I can see they're identical, so I found it photographically intriguing. They are two of the resident Shetland fleet of eight large similar vessels, equipped with refrigerated seawater tanks to keep the catch fresh until it emerges from the end of a giant factory as 20kg blocks of frozen fish, having never emerged into daylight.

The confused, fussy background destroys the shot, as I fear Cal will point out, but the near juxtaposition of nearly identical objectsmight inspire better efforts. Also note that someone has moored the Titanic in the background on the left, although it might just be a bitof Lerwick Electricity GeneratingStation.

oh, very cool!

didn't notice the double boat without a little looking..i thought it was one boat

i agree the background doesn't add, but the light is very nice, as is the composition!
