At the Michigan Renaissance Festival, September 10, 2005. The T-shaped bar has a ring hung on each end, and the "knights" try to catch the rings on their lances. (The picture is cropped to 480x320 to fit my PDA.)

Very interesting. I thought that in these Renaissance Festivals they went for actual personal contact. I thought the tips of the spears were soft rubber and the riders wore heavy padding.

This is more like grabbing the brass ring on the carousel!

They were going to do that a little later, but we were getting a little overheated (sun, no wind, very warm), so we left early.

Nice capture...looks like a lot of fun to watch! I'd love to go to a Renaissance Fair...the costumes must be fabulous to see!
