IMAGE REMOVED..sorry.

Our fair is based on the rodeo. I'm still practising at taking rodeo images. This rodeo was the 2nd rodeo I've been to in the last couple of months. The second time around was a bit better and I'm sure with each one I go to, I'll know more of what I'm doing. I find it hard to take action shots....

That's a pretty good shot for a beginner! You might try a higher shutter speed next time and see if it gives you a sharper shot.

WoW! Now that's an action photo! Makes you wonder if the guy lived?

I think you did a great job catching the action! It tells a story and I find that the most important thing about photography. I liked you picture a lot! Thanks for sharing!

StitchBabe,

Lovely job on the action. I'm torn between the need show a sharp picture of the cowboys and the great image of theaction taking taking place with the dust kicking up etc..

Of course in a perfect world we could have our cake and eat it.

Aloha

Hi,

Thanks for the comments...they really help to inspire me! :-)

Cal: I certainly will give your suggestion a try. I sure hope I don't have to wait until next summer before hearing of another rodeo. Even though I find action shots difficult, I also find it quite exciting!

Freida: LOL...yes, the guy lived. He is actually quite good! I say those guys are craaaaazy!

Selvin: Yes, it's a tough one. I have some rodeo images where I used a slow shutter speed and panned during calf roping which I think really shows off the motion of the event. But it's funny cause when I show it to friends and such, they just don't understand...they think it was a mistake...LOL! :-)

I think the motion blur adds to the "explosive" look of the bull charging. That's a lot of energy there!
