This is a photo taken by my son this past Feb. The wind chill was in the low teens this day. Kayaking has been my passion for most of my life, I am on the water all year except when we are having a hard water (ICE).

Very nice photo's! It looks sooo cold. Tell me are you legs straight out or folded under you? I always wondered that. I bet you can get to a pretty fast speed with it huh? Thanks for sharing these pictures. -Freida

Hi Freida! Your legs are straight out and rest on adjustable footpegs on the inside of the hull. The longer and narrower the boat the faster it is, this one is 16ft and 23inches wide and I can usually maintain a 3mph pace depending on the wind.

I'm getting cramps just looking at those pictures. I would love to try kayaking but on a nice warm lake on a sunny day. The thought of doing it in the cold of winter sends chills down my spine.

Anyway, great shots.

Hi Cal! I have to admit that when getting out of the boat after setting in it for a hour or so can be interesting. :G

Now THIS is what I'm talking about!! The shot of you kayaking in fridgid waters shows that you are passionate about the sport. It says it all! Isn't it great when you can share something like this with your son? And your wife is right, there is a very fine line between passion and nutty!

Thanks for sharing and congratulations on hitting the challenge right smack between the eyes!!
