This is an intersting shot! Could you share with us what they are performing and why that guy is hitting the girl in the head with a stick?? Just what kind of entertainment IS this!! :blah:

Rose,

The performers are doing a traditional Maori welcoming dance near a lake in Queenstown, South Island, NZ. The genleman is not pounding on the lady's head. It appears to be so, because of the angle of the shot.

Note the facial tattoos on both male and females. The female skirts are made from plant material which are dyed after drying. Many of these traditional South Pacific dances can be viewed at our local Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu.
