Scotious,

Hoping to be not too critical, but I would have assumed you would have focussed more on the fishing gear rather than the boats. The sepia gives it a nice aged look.

Surely the boats are a very important tool to aid them in their work Slevin .

I like the 'treatment' too !

I agree with Selvin here .......... yes, the boats are a very important tool for fishermen but nets would help with this particular challenge ....... UNLESS the fish in this region simply jump into the waiting boats :blah:

But on it's own, this is a very lovely shot.

I am not sure I totally agree with the group, here, so here is my dissenting vote. Although I had never thought of fishing boats as tools, fishing would be much more difficult without them.

I ask the question: Is a truck mounted snowplow a tool? Is a large mainframe computer a tool? Is a tractor a tool? I think you get my point. The definition of tool in my copy of Webster's American Dictionary is rather lengthy but the following makes the boats legal for the challenge:
"5. anything used as a means of accomplishing a task or purpose. Education is a tool for success. "

Anyway, it's a great shot.

From Encarta.......5. something used for a job: an item people use in the course of their everyday work............Words are the poets tool.

You wouldn't want me to tell you what it has as entry no. 7 Suffice to say, they consider it an offensive term :O.

I think I have to look in the "Dictionary of American Slang" for that definition. It isn't in Webster's American Dictionary. Incidently, I know what you are referring to. Alas, we digress to much....
