Officially, Chanukah doesn't start this year until next week (actually just after Christmas day). Each day, another candle is lit until all 8 are burning.

Very nicely done! Is the white candle on the upper left used to light the others. Can you explain more about this tradition?

Yes, there is a 'helper candle' that is set aside from the others and is used to light the others. The holiday is actually not found in the Bible and celebrates the victory of the Jewish insurgent forces (the Macabees) over the Roman occupation. (Nothing changes much in the Middle East!)

As the story goes, the Temple in Jerusalem was defiled by the Romans and the eternal flame was allowed to go out. The ceremony to purify new oil for the lamp would take 8 days. Searching the Temple, they found a single bottle of sanctified oil which was enough to light the lamp for only a single day. By a miracle, the oil lasted 8 days allowing new oil could be purified.

Throughout the 8 days of the holiday, we light an additional candle until all 8 are lit.

Seriously, nice shot
