never taken a flame shot before took loads at different settings and exposures i think this one works quite wel.l any comments most welcome

You have done a very nice job in shooting this group of candles. As you have discovered, shooting a lighted candle can be tricky. Flame, in general, is tricky to shoot since the flame is transparent.

If you look at the "Past/Future Challenges" posting at the top of this forum and click on the link to "fire", you will see some tips on photographing fire and flame.
