Hi folks,
do you know that too? There are some special things you just have to do to make you feel at home. Now this is one for me: my fridge. Don't laugh - it's not important which brand, it's how it looks like:

It serves for so many things - as a gallery for my daughters paintings, a place for important notes, the weekly shopping list, the bottle opener always in reach, picture postcards from everywhere, magnetic pins of all kind and mostly souvenirs itself.

When I have to buy a new fridge the first thing I ask is if it's surface is "magnetic" so all the stuff can still live a happy life there.

Oh yes - ofc it can keep your beer cold... I almost forgot to mention

If it wouldn't look like this - it would not be my fridge.
If I see it when I am back from a long journey I know I am at home.

A bit crazy I know - but you didn't asked for real estate photography

Regards

P.S. The pic looks a bit crumbled and over-compressed ... not sure why, compression is only 5%, I blame my ISP for it - they compress images to reduce bandwidth... terrible hope it's not too bad to look at :sad:

I think that's a great piece of real estate!!! The fridge really is the heart of the home, isn't it?

I never thought of a refrigerator for this challenge but it really works. Great idea! by the way, what is "ofc"? If that's chatroom or text message talk, we prefer english here!

Hello calr,
I am very sorry about the "ofc" - there are just some shorties I use on a regular base and never had real problems with it in message boards and so on.

Like
- ofc --> of course
- iirc --> if I remember correctly
- hth --> hope that helps
- ...

I consider this to be common and widely used short words and sometimes just use them even when I am not in a hurry.

Of course you are right - this is a message board, not a chat room - but I am a human and not a computer - so I am not perfect and to be honest I feel ok with not beeing that way.

Since I am not a native speaker when it comes to english another point is that I enjoy it when I am "in the flow" when writing and try to type quite fast when I have sorted all the words in my mind and use short words to be even faster - when I am done I read for a second time and correct mistakes and put in the long form for the short words. Sometimes I don't get all the short words...

Ok - with that beeing sorted now (I hope so?)...

Thanks for the nice comments on the picture

For some unknown reason I'm attracted (:G) to this shot. Probably because my fridge looks a lot like this.

I wasn't aware how much interest there is in magnets until I recently visited a store and saw an entire wall devoted to magnets.

Aloha

Hi folks,

This is EXACTLY what I had in mind for the challenge!! When you walk in the door and see your fridge you "feel" that you are at home. And a house is a piece of real estate but it's the living within that makes it a home.

Great shot........well worth the 5 minutes it took to download and reply!!
